Good Morning everyone! Are you planning out your holiday baking list yet? Each year, I enjoy baking cookies and various treats for Christmas to give out to co-workers, neighbors, friends, and family. I think I enjoy doing this so much because my mother taught me to bake when I was young. I remember baking with her in our kitchen and using our cookie press to make Christmas cookies and then decorating them together – it is one of the reasons that I love Christmas so much!

Over the years, my mom and sister have continued to get together to bake Christmas cookies and desserts together to continue the tradition, but even when we can’t come together for our holiday baking I still plan out several recipes to make each year by myself. I’ve even tried to pass this love of baking at Christmas on to my nieces and last year my niece Morgan and I made a Gingerbread Christmas Tree together (click here to check out that post).
Cranberry Spice Christmas Cookie Recipe
I have to admit that as much as I love to cook and bake, that I had never made my own unique recipe before now. Oh, I’ve been known to tweak a recipe a little bit by adding, subtracting, or changing an ingredient or two but up until now I’ve never had my own creative idea for a recipe. About 3 months ago I had an idea for a new Christmas cookie that included cranberries because I love the cranberry orange scones I make at Christmas time. This cookie is a cross between a gingerbread cookie and a chocolate chip cookie in flavor and I hope it becomes a favorite on your Christmas baking list!
