Good Morning everyone, and Happy Easter! I wish you all a blessed Easter this Sunday and I hope you are all able to spend some precious time with friends, family, and our Saviour Jesus Christ!!
Enjoyed a wonderful Easter Service this morning thanks to Pastor Lowell and the CenterPoint Bible Church group, and for once I was able to enjoy it with my husband Larry as he had off this Easter!! That is the first time in several years he’s been off for Easter, so we’ll take full advantage of it by celebrating with my parents, sister, brother-in-law, and all of my nieces and nephew!
I have been writing the past few weeks, which is so exciting to me!! It’s been so long since I’ve been actively writing that I forgot how great it feels to have the creative juices flowing…. and how it feels to hit that writer’s-block wall sometimes. But no worries, I have enough projects that I can shift from one to another when I get stuck on anything! I’ve been working on developing the new Young Adult Crime/Mystery Series as well, and we’ve come up with a name for the series – Rockland Crime Journals. This will be tied to one of the two main characters writing in her journal every day, which will include field notes about each case they work on. I’m excited to get this series underway, but I’m also still excited to be working on the 2nd book in the Laurel Hill Series: Long Days of Summer.
I’ve also been working on the two new picture books that I have developed, so those are coming along nicely as well – but I’m finding that I’m struggling more to come up with character names for the picture books!! It’s funny how different it is to name characters for a picture book as opposed to a Young Adult or Juvenile Fiction book. Picture books need to be catchy, fun names instead of actual reality-based name. I mean, who wants to hear about a crocodile swim instructor named Mr. Jones?!? Thankfully, I have some help working on character names for both books as my sister Jill and my nieces and nephew are helping me with this!!
I’ll keep everyone updated on how all of these projects are coming along. I hope everyone has a blessed Easter and a great week coming up – especially with this beautiful weather we are finally having!! No More Cold – gotta love it!! 🙂
