Good morning everyone! My main focus lately with #marketingmybook and my #brand has been to try to acquire an agent. I don’t know if anyone else is in this phase or not, but it’s not necessarily a fun one!
I liken it to submitting unsolicited manuscripts to publishers – a lot of work, and a lot of rejections. I’m going to be looking to see if I can find any tips for acquiring an agent later on, but for now I’m doing A LOT of research on which agents are looking for new clients and which ones work with children’s books.
It can be a little disheartening when you work so hard to submit queries to a large number of agents….only to start receiving rejection emails the very next day! But I know that there’s only one agent out there for me, so it’s okay if I get some rejections – I’ll just keep #pluggingaway until I find the right one!!
