Good evening everyone! I hope you all had a blessed Thanksgiving!
Yesterday marked the end of NaNoWriMo – the first that I participated in – and I have to say that I’m very happy with the results!
Since I was working on the second book in the Laurel Hill series, I knew that I wouldn’t come close to the 50,000 word goal that they set each year. But I set my own goal, which was to finish the book during the challenge – and 16,000+ words later I achieved that challenge with just 2 days to spare!
I am excited to be doing my first editing pass through the manuscript and then I will give copies to my family and friends to get their impressions and suggestions. But after that, I look forward to working on one of my other open projects since I’m in the writing zone!
So, my final parting thoughts about NaNoWriMo are that I will definitely take the challenge again next year, and I highly recommend it to all writers – not only does it get you writing, but it also definitely pushes you past your normal writing limits.
